This torma is for the practice of the five deity sadhana of Chakrasamvara of Gantapada. There are many different sadhanas and methods of the yiddam Chakrasamvara and this torma pertains to the main Drikung Chakrasamvara practice of the five-fold Mahamudra practice system. The detailed sādhana was brought into its present form by the 17th Drikungpa, Rinchen Phüntshok in the first half of the 16th century. This single deity torma is a complete mandala and represents the central yab yum dieties, as well as the retinue, thus no additional tormas are needed.
The torma stands approximately 11 inches (28 CM) in height, is 3.5 inches (9 CM) across the base and is about 6 inches (15 cm) across the central circular ornaments.
